What can these aliens tell us about how children learn grammar?

According to a study by researchers from the University of Sydney and the Australian National University, quite a lot.
The study draws links between a child’s ability to recognise patterns, represented by a storyboard featuring the above aliens, and their ability to take on grammatical forms.
The results, published in the journal Child Development, are interesting and indicate how much learning children do subconsciously during their development.
