Duolingo log: week 5

This week I have been wrangling with possessive adjectives and pronouns. The app does little to identify word classes explicitly and aside from ‘noticing’, the learner is given no guidance in the pluralisation of these pronouns to reflect corresponding nouns. This is the same for gender.
It’s difficult to ascertain whether this is a deliberate approach by the developers or just a part of the app that may be featured in later iterations or updates.
It is easy to have great expectations of this app and criticise what may be missing, instead of appreciating what is there.
For an application that does not cost a penny for it’s users. Duolingo is fantastic, but is it enough?
Too soon to say…
