Has CLIL reached an entropic state?


In the article India’s obsession with English is depriving many children of a real education, Anjoli Mody puts forth an informed and logical argument for language education to be separated from core subjects. While in Europe we are still extolling the benefits of a ‘CLIL style’ education in many areas, it has not been without its problems in other regions such as Malaysia. At best, teaching subject in the medium of a foreign language offers a dual benefit in a ‘two for the price of one’ system. At its worst, it could hold citizens of countries focussing on international development back from making true progress.
